YOUNGSTERS at a Kidderminster school enjoyed all things Spanish after scooping the International Schools Award.
St Catherine’s Primary School is an active partner in the Comenius programme - a two year project which promotes intercultural understanding and community cohesion.
Children from years three and four took part in Spanish week, where they tasted the country’s dishes, explored Spanish artist Picasso and learned phrases.
Pupil Ben Powell said: “I loved tasting the Spanish food and learning a different language.”
As part of the programme, the school also welcomed teachers from Finland, Spain, Belgium and Italy and teachers have also visited Belgium and Spain.
Rachel Moss, languages co-ordinator, said: “We are proud of our International Schools Award because it recognises our commitment to the Comenius Project and to broadening our children’s view of the world.”
