A STOURBRIDGE charity which provides support for people with sight loss has made an appointment to its team.
Jan Lacy has taken up the role of volunteer co-ordinator at the Thomas Pocklington Trust Resource and Information Centre, based in Oldswinford.
Ms Lacy, of Pendeford in Wolverhampton, will lead the Visually Impaired People (VIP) project, a Lottery-funded initiative run by the charity, as well as helping the organisation develop in other areas.
The VIP project is a free home visiting service which supports blind and partially-sighted people across the borough in their own homes by offering company, assistance with reading and correspondence or accompanying them on trips within their local community.
Ms Lacy, who has previous experience of the volunteering sector in the West Midlands, will be based at the resource centre’s headquarters at the Mary Stevens Centre, in Oldswinford.
