THE keys to Birmingham City University's new Parkside Building have been officially handed over from Willmott Dixon during a special event held at the facility.
The flagship Parkside Building is part of a £180 million investment in the university’s estate. It opens for business in September.
Based in Eastside, the Parkside Building will provide workshops, teaching facilities, exhibition space and open environments for design students from Birmingham Institute of Art and Design (BIAD), part of Birmingham City University.
The extension will also be home to a state-of-the-art media centre, part of the university’s School of Media and include TV studios, as well as radio studios and editing suites.
The facility is a result of the working relationship with contractor Willmott Dixon, which helped turn the project’s vision into a reality.
The key handover took place as part of a special event at the Parkside Building, attended by delegates from across the construction sector and partner organisations.
