THE College of Law in Birmingham is holding open days in October and November to give anyone interested in pursuing a career in law an insight into its training courses and the legal profession.

At the open days, taking place at the Great Hampton Street centre on October 21, November 4, 14 and 25, would-be lawyers can speak to tutors, current students and local lawyers about legal training and working in the law.

They are aimed at degree students and graduates in law and non-law subjects, including both recent graduates and people wishing to change career.

Courses on offer at the College include the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL), giving non-law graduates an entry route into the profession, the Legal Practice Course (LPC), the next step towards a career as a solicitor and the Bar Professional Training Course (formally known as the Bar Vocational Course) for those keen to become barristers.

Bernardette Griffin, centre director, said: "Our open days offer people interested in a career in law a great opportunity to speak to staff and current students and witness the first class tuition and modern facilities.

“Our award winning pro bono team and specialist careers advisers will be on hand to offer excellent support and advice to visitors."

Visitors will get a taste of the College’s blend of both traditional and innovative learning methods, combining electronic learning methods, such as online interactive tutorials with face-to-face learning.
