IN an office building to the East of Redditch town centre business is booming for one enterprising company harnessing the skills of senior executives to create a new environment for growth.

Lake Chemicals and Minerals recently took 4,000 sq ft at 3 Paper Mill Drive. It acts as the sales and distribution arm for overseas companies wanting to sell to manufacturing companies in the UK and Ireland.

King Sturge acted on behalf of the landlord, SAM Property Company, which also secured a new lease on a further 4,000 sq ft to a leading global petrochemical company.

Charles Warrack, a senior associate at King Sturge, said: “In the current economic climate it is very uplifting to see businesses continue to grow and expand.”

Steven Cartlidge, director of Lake Chemicals and Minerals, saw its relocation to 3 Paper Mill Drive as an essential move to attract employees and provide the right image and surroundings for visiting customers.

“We were, essentially, looking for a quality space in a quality building with good links to the local road networks and 3 Paper Mill ticked all the boxes. Our business has grown from two people when we set up in 2003 to 15 at the present time and we are continuing to expand.

Currently with a turnover of £6.5 million and ambitions to increase that to £20 million by 2020, Lake Chemicals and Minerals is recruiting another two to the team in the coming weeks.
