In the national survey of NHS workers just published 20 per cent of staff of the Worcs Health and Care NHS Trust said they had been bullied by other staff during 2014.

They will have been slightly surprised to read in the Shuttle (19th March) that an unnamed staff side union representative should support the Chief Executive, Ms Dugan, in saying that claims by BBTT of widespread bullying are unfounded.

The evidence is clear from this survey and from the phone calls and emails being received by BBTT that bullying is indeed widespread. But up to now BBTT’s main concern is at the heavy end of this abuse, dealing with those whose careers and lives have been wrecked.

Our website at www.bbttworcs.

tumblr.com describes in detail how this process of abuse works. This is the culture of bullying that exists within this Trust and is a disgrace to the NHS.

Ms Dugan and staff side appear to make out that this is all in the past, but we know from our contacts that this culture of bullying is operating at this very moment.

Tomorrow, another innocent member of staff may become a victim if they have upset certain managers or if a colleague needs a scapegoat.

BBTT calls upon the trade unions to review its co-operation with this abusive culture.

Yours sincerely Nigel Gilbert Chair, BBTT Franche Kidderminster
