Can any one tell me how the person in charge of designing the new road/ area by the Town Hall in Kidderminster, thought it was a good or sensible idea?

It opened six months late, at huge cost, looking like a pedestrianised area, but with a bus lane going through the middle of it! There is no differentiation in level between the road and the pedestrianised area between the Town Hall and Barclays Bank, with the result that people are wandering casually all over it thinking, from its appearance, that it is a traffic free zone.

The bus drivers are therefore having to contend with people continually stepping in front of their buses without even looking. There is also a seat barely a metre from the bus lane, with its back to the buses. A child could jump off it straight under a bus. Why do the buses need to go that way when, for a year, the bus station and the road at the back of the college worked perfectly well? What we have now is an accident waiting to happen.
