THERE were three charities named that apparently had not responded to an emergency call from this person regarding two cats that were found in a box in a very poor state in the Bewdley area.

I have contacted the RSPCA and Cat Welfare and not one of us have any record of receiving any such calls.

We personally have four phone numbers to contact us and everyone has the opportunity to leave a message.

All my missed calls are recorded so there would be a message there.

If you contact BT I am sure they can confirm this person has never been in contact with our number.

This is a very serious accusation that could have a detrimental effect on our charities.

We work hard to keep them going and our own charity is run solely by volunteers. This is an insult to them.

Most weekends we are out trying to raise much-needed funds to keep our charities going, but even when we are away from home, we can be contacted by mobile phone.

It concerns me that Mrs Pratchett is not even making this accusation on her own behalf, but as an alleged second-hand experience of an acquaintance.

What will these poor animals do when all these charities are gone and destroyed by such accusations?

I would like to know who the vet was who turned these poor cats away? Why was he not named and shamed? He should take responsibility for this experience if, indeed, it happened.

I know the vets we work with would never do such a thing and we would not want to work with them if they did.

We personally will always endeavour to reduce the suffering of any animals and any good samaritan should be applauded for their concern, but to attempt to give a charity a bad name like this is absolutely diabolical.
