BUDDING photographers can get ready to snap for an annual photo contest.

Conservation charity Worcestershire Wildlife Trust is looking for photographs that put Worcestershire’s wildlife and wild places into view.

The 12 winning photographs will feature in the trust’s 2015 calendar, with one lucky photographer taking the prized front cover.

The competition is open to everyone and the calendar will feature photographs that highlight the diversity of wildlife across the county as well as the range of places that wildlife calls home.

More than 350 photographs were taken for last year’s competition with the overall prize going to Jason Curtis, of Far Forest, for his winning snap of a tawny owl in Wyre Forest. He will also help judge this year’s contest.

Wendy Carter, communications manager for the trust, said: “We’re constantly impressed by the quality of the photographs and the range of subjects captured.”

Staff at the trust will join Mr Curtis, who will be running two nature photography workshops to help people get the most from their cameras, in judging the competition.

Ms Carter said: “Whether it’s a magnificent hawk-moth or wildflowers dancing on the breeze, goldfinches in the garden or a child’s first encounter with wildlife, we’re looking for inspiring and eye-catching images that reflect the beauty of our county’s natu - ral world.

The closing date is Friday, April 11 and entry forms can be downloaded from worcswildlifetrust.co.uk/photo graphy-competition
