ARMED forces representatives and Wyre Forest dignitaries gathered in Kidderminster for the annual flag flying event on Monday (June 20).

Wyre Forest District Council chairman Rose Bishop led a short service and Reverend Rose Lawley said prayers at the ceremony held inside Kidderminster Town Hall due to the bad weather.

The Union Flag was raised and will fly outside the town hall to honour past, present and future members of the British Armed Forces all week.

The district council is one of hundreds of councils across the country taking part in a week of official celebrations in honour of our Armed Forces.
