THE inquest into the death of a dad-of-two whose body was found in a Kidderminster canal has opened.

Andrew Hart’s body was pulled out of the water near the Weaver’s Wharf retail park at around 11.20am on Friday, June 10.

The 34-year-old, of Whitley Close, was declared dead at the scene.

The Worcestershire Coroner’s Service opened an inquest into the cause of his death on June 20.

It was adjourned for a final hearing on August 17. The medical cause of death will be confirmed at the inquest.

His heartbroken brother, Paul, said Andrew, who was father to 14-year-old twins Warren and Crystal, was extremely popular with family and friends.

He said: “Andrew was a hard-working, loyal and proud young man. Everyone who ever knew him would agree on a phrase that many chose to use for him - he had a heart of gold.

“He really did care a lot about everyone and would do anything for anyone. He enjoyed his motorbike and cars, went fishing, painted, loved music, going to the beach or camping and out dancing with his friends.

“Andrew was always mischievous, usually laughing and had the cheekiest, infectious smile.”
