A TEENAGE soldier from Kidderminster won a top prize when he graduated from the Army Foundation College.

Seventeen-year-old junior soldier, Patrick Rossier, was named the best junior soldier in the Royal Logistics Corps at the prestigious military training establishment.

The former Baxter College student was presented with his prize as part of a passing out parade from the college in Harrogate, North Yorkshire.

He said: “I am pleased to have been recognised for the effort I have been putting in throughout the year.

“I passed my level two ICT here, which I didn’t get at school, so I feel like I got a second chance.

“The best part of my time at the college has been the final exercise where we had the chance to do a full platoon attack and use personal role radios as well.”

More than 4,000 family members and friends watched the junior soldiers take part in the largest military graduation parade in the country.

The college opened in 1998 and provides training for soldiers destined for all the Army’s career paths.
