Mark Churn, Consultant Oncologist at Kidderminster Hospital will be taking up a huge challenge for KEMP at the end of November, when he will be setting off to Patagonia for a demanding trek.
Over ten days, Mark will hike via glaciers and turquoise-blue lakes to the renowned granite towers of Torres del Paine National Park, the jewel of Patagonia. Mark will be trekking for up to 8 hours per day, crossing many different terrains and reaching heights of up to 3,000ft.
Mark said: “Many of my patients at the Hospital are also treated at the Hospice and they have received so much help and support there, so I wanted to support them as much as possible”.
Mark started taking part in overseas challenges to raise funds for charity two years ago, with a London to Paris cycle ride and last year climbed Mt Kilimanjaro. He hopes to raise over £3,000 for the Hospice, which will help them in their work of providing care and support to people throughout the Wyre Forest who are living with life-threatening illness.
