Celebrate at county museum this half-term
4:43pm Thursday 14th February 2013 in G-H
Half-term fun: Lynn Parsons, museum roleplayer, prepares for the festival crafts activities.
CRAFTS activities for children which explore festivals occurring around the world will be available at Hartlebury Castle this half-term.
The Festival Craft events will run between Tuesday and next Friday and will involve three unique activities each day.
The events include celebrating South American carnivals and the Chinese New Year by making carnival headdresses and masks, origami dragons, lucky red packets and paper lanterns.
On Wednesday, there will also be a chance to make a gift basket for Purim Day, a Jewish feast day which takes place later in the week.
Children will also be able to follow a Firework Trail around the museum’s galleries where visitors can also discover more than 1,000 years of history including toys from the past, historic room sets and beautiful Gypsy caravans.
