VANDALS are causing delays to Kidderminster train users for the third time since Friday.

A Network Rail spokesman said 300 metres of cable had been stolen from the track near Hartlebury meaning trains running between Kidderminster and Worcester have been diverted or cancelled.

London Midland has put on replacement bus services for passengers and said the disruption could last until noon or mid-afternoon.

The Network Rail spokesman said: “It cuts out the signals meaning the whole line is blocked because we can’t run train services if the signals are not working.

“It is incredibly frustrating for us and for passengers. We are working to get the service back up as soon as we can. There will be numerous delays until about lunchtime.”

British Transport Police officers are investigating the three incidents. The other two caused delays on a similar scale last Friday and on bank holiday Monday.
