KIDDERMINSTER CHORAL SOCIETY: This spring, the society will give a performance of Elgar's oratorio “The Kingdom”. The concert takes place at Kidderminster Town Hall on March 25, starting at 7.30pm.
Conducted by Geoffrey Weaver, the Society will be joined by soloists Mary Nelson (soprano), Katie Stevenson (mezzo soprano), John Pierce (tenor) and Quentin Hayes (bass), with accompaniment from Marcus Huxley (organ) and The Elgar Sinfonia.
Peter Knott, publicity officer for the society, commented "This magnificent oratorio is the second in Elgar's unfinished trilogy. Some authorities think it an even greater work than 'The Dream of Gerontius' ”.
Tickets for the concert are available online at the society's website kidderminsterchoralsociety.co.uk, priced at between £13 and £16. Age 18 and under go free. Tickets on the door will be priced at £18 (concessions £17) and are subject to availability.
