A KIDDERMINSTER supermarket is offering its customers the chance to recycle remembrance poppies and make their Poppy Appeal donation go further.

Until Monday, November 24, Sainbury’s in Carpet Trades Way, will have an in-store collection point where customers can place their poppies to be sent back to the Royal British Legion (RBL) to be re-used.

Helen Bower, Sainsbury’s PR ambassadors, said: “The Poppy Appeal was a great success this year for fundraising and we’d like to thank everyone who contributed.

“With this recycling initiative, we wanted to show our customers another way they can support the Royal British Legion to ensure their poppies don’t go to waste.

“We hope the recycling drive proves a success with our customers.”

Sainsbury’s said it is the only retailer providing the service, which aims to support the local environment as well as the RBL.

The poppy recycling box will be located on the customer service desk.
