Kinver ladies have had an unusual month, we welcomed King Alfred the Great, in the form of Max Keen, to join us and lots of friends at the KSCA he didn’t seem to care that he’d carelessly burnt some poor woman’s cakes, instead he told us all about he’s adventures leading to the creation of Angle - land, Known to us as England. What a star!
To see Max/Alfred in all he’s glory visit us at www.kinvervillagewi.
co.uk You would have thought that that would have been sufficient but within days we were visiting the Beacon Centre at Sedgley, to learn all about the work that they do and of coursehave lunch.
Our regular meeting featured a hands on evening of peg loom weaving, if you don’t know what this entails you will find pictures of our efforts also on the web site. Eira Walters, taught us how to create wonderful one off items from seemingly useless scraps of fabric and wool.
Next month’s meeting is regarding the business side of WI, with our annual meeting.
Don’t worry too much though, it will also include a fish and chip supper.
We meet on the second Monday of the month at the Senior Citizens Hall, 7.30 pm, visitors are always welcome.
