A STABBING outside a pub in Stourport on New Year’s Eve put two men in hospital.

The incident took place outside Ye Olde Crown Inn, in Bridge Street, at about 9.40pm on Wednesday evening.

West Mercia Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service were called to the incident where they found two men suffering from stab wounds to the upper body.

Two ambulances, a paramedic area support officer, a responder paramedic and medics from the Central Accident Resuscitation Emergency attended and treated the two men before taking them to hospital for further treatment.

Neither men are believed to be in a life-threatening condition at this current time.

Two men have since been arrested - a 23-year-old from Wyre Forest, on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent, and a 25-year-old, also from the area, on suspicion of affray.

Those two men have now been released on bail until Wednesday, March 25, while further enquiries are carried out by police.

Police are looking for witnesses and want anyone who was in the area at the time, or has any information about the stabbing, to contact them on 101, quoting incident number 518S of December 31st, 2014.
