A TEENAGER has died in a hit-and-run collision in Dudley last night (Thursday).

Emergency services were called to Priory Road at 10.35pm to reports that an Audi and Ford Fiesta had crashed.

The driver of the Fiesta, 18-year-old Georgie Ann Evans, from Himley, was confirmed dead at the scene, while a male passenger was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham with neck and back injuries.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “CPR was already being carried out when ambulance staff arrived, which they took over and administered advanced life support.

“However, sadly it became apparent that nothing could be done to save her.”

The Audi was abandoned and police are now trying to trace the man who was seen fleeing the scene.

Georgie's parents have paid tribute to their “beautiful, kind-hearted and spirited daughter” and have appealed to anyone with information about the crash to come forward.

Sergeant Chris Ridge, from the West Midlands Police collision investigation unit, said: "A young woman has tragically lost her life and we have specialist officers supporting her family at this time.

"We are examining CCTV in the area as we try to piece together what happened and I would ask anyone who saw anything to get in contact.

"I would appeal directly to driver to do the right thing and come forward.”
