A FAMILY from Stourport – which included two children – escaped carbon monoxide poisoning following a suspected faulty boiler on Wednesday night.
Two Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue (HWFRS) crews from Kidderminster and Stourport fire stations were called to an address in Linden Avenue at around 10.35pm on January 18, in response to a carbon monoxide detector.
The gas supply was isolated and two adults and two children were checked over by West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS).
A HWFRS spokesman said: "We received a call just after 10.30pm and sent one fire crew from Stourport and another from Kidderminster.
"Carbon monoxide was detected in the cupboard where a gas boiler was located.
"Crews isolated the gas and boiler.
"A representative from Wyre Forest Community Housing was requested to attend, and paramedics carried out precautionary checks on the occupants of the house."
A spokesman from WMAS added: "We were called to a property in Linden Avenue shortly after 11.10pm last night (January 18) to assess four patients for the possible effects of carbon monoxide.
"We assessed two adults and two children.
"No patients showed any symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning and they were all discharged at the scene.
"A rapid response paramedic attended the scene."
