KIND nurses from Kidderminster Hospital are encouraging people to don their ball gowns and help raise money for a cause close to their hearts.

Tammie Dudley and Emma Yarsley have organised a ‘blue and pink’ ball, which will be held at Gainsborough House Hotel in Kidderminster from 7.30pm on January 31, in aid of Cancer Research.

Staff nurse Tammie said both she and Emma, who is a student nurse had lost close family and friends to cancer.

People are asked to wear blue and pink, to represent the charity’s colours, and the event will include a live band, DJ and a raffle.

Tammie said: “I lost my dad to cancer four months ago and my nan last year and Emma's mum is terminally ill and we really wanted to do something to help. So we came up with the idea of holding this ball.

“We have had a lot of support from a number of local companies who are donating prizes for the raffle and we are grateful for their help.

“If anyone would like to support us or maybe set up stalls on the night to help raise money for Cancer Research, then they can get in touch with me.”

Tickets for the ball cost £10 and can be obtained by contacting Tammie at Tammiedudley@btinternet.com
