A STOURPORT woman has been jailed for causing the death of Kidderminster man Stuart Frost by dangerous driving.

Shirley Glover, 50, pleaded guilty to causing death and serious injury by dangerous driving.

Glover confirmed she was driving a black Volvo XC60 which crashed on the A450 Worcester Road, in Shenstone, near Kidderminster, resulting in the death of 42-year-old Stuart Frost, on March 21, of this year.

Mr Frost's partner, Emma Lunn, also suffered serious injuries in the crash.

She was sentenced to two years and nine months for each offence, to run concurrently, at Hereford Crown Court on Thursday, November 10.

She has also been disqualified from driving for five years and is required to take an extended re-test.

Mr Frost's parents, Kath and Ian Frost, have paid tribute to their "perfect son".

A statement from his parents said: "Stuart, in our eyes, was the perfect son. We are totally devastated at his death.

"We miss him terribly and we are unlikely to recover fully from it.

"Life will never be the same again."

Shortly before his tragic death, Mr Frost had started a new job at Kidderminster Hospital and he also volunteered for the Severn Area Rescue Association (SARA).

His fiancée Emma added: "He inspired so many people and has left a huge hole with so many people and so many areas of his life.

"Stuart was a keen member of the Severn Area Rescue Association (SARA) - I am proud to say that I did the Birmingham Half Marathon for SARA two weeks ago and raised more than £1,000 in memory of Stuart."

PC 2289 Ian Sweeney, of West Mercia Police, said: "This was a particularly tragic crash to deal with, which resulted in a very complex and intensive investigation that took several months to complete.

"I would like to thank all the witnesses that came forward to assist us with our enquiries. The information that they provided was crucial to the investigation.

"The after-effects of this crash will have a profound and life long effect on all involved.

"Our advice to drivers is that if you ever feel tired or unwell, or are having difficulty concentrating, always stop and take a break and only ever continue your journey if safe to do so.

"We also remind drivers to be mindful of the effects any medication they may be taking can have on them whilst driving.

"We urge people to always seek the advice of their doctor and notify the DVLA of any special medical circumstances or disabilities."

The inquest into the death of Stuart Frost will not be resumed following criminal proceedings.

Worcestershire Coroners Court opened an inquest into Mr Frost's death in April, before it was adjourned during criminal proceedings.

The inquest officially closed on November 2.
