OFFICERS in Stourport are appealing for witnesses after a cat was shot with a pellet.
The incident took place in Lucy Baldwin Close between 9.30am and 11am, on Saturday, September 23, when the owner discovered her cat injured on the driveway.
The cat was taken to a local vet, where it was had to be put to sleep as a result of the injury it suffered.
PC Tony Hunt, of West Mercia Police, said: "This is a cruel incident that has caused understandable distress to the owner.
"This kind of criminal behaviour is totally unacceptable and I urge anyone with information or anybody who may have witnessed suspicious behaviour in the area at the time to contact us."
Anyone with information should call West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident reference number 365S of September 23.
