WYRE Forest will come together this weekend to honour service men and women who lost their lives during conflicts from around the world.

A series of Remembrance services and parades will be held in Kidderminster, Stourport, Bewdley, Wolverley and Cookley on Sunday, November 12.

People are reminded that temporary road closures will be in effect at various times during the day as services take place.

Kidderminster’s parade will take place before a service is held at St Mary’s Church from 10.55am.

Rolling road closures will take place between 8am and 1pm on New Road, Bridge Street, Oxford Street, Vicar Street, Bull Ring, Lower Mill Street and St Mary’s Ringway.

The parade in Stourport will start from around 10.30am at the Royal British Legion club in Severn Road. It will then proceed to Mitton Street, Vale Road, York Street, Lion Hill and Lichfield Street. The closures will take place between 10.30am and 1.30pm.

In Bewdley, closures will take place between 10.40am and 12.30pm in Riverside North, Bewdley Bridge and Load Street. A service will be held at St Anne’s Church at around 11am.

Castle Road in Cookley will be closed on the evening, between 6.15pm and 6.25pm as people make their way to St Peter’s Church in Lea Road.

And in Wolverley, the B4189 Wolverley Road will be shut between 10.25am and 11.35am from the Memorial Hall to the lane down to St John the Baptist Church.
