Sports Personality 2009 candidates

  • STOURPORT archer Steve Harvey won golds at the European Bowhunter and UK and Ireland Championships after a five-year break because of injury.
  • SAMURAI Judo Club star Sarah Biles has won a host of medals in 2009.
Her biggest highlights were bronze at the British Junior Championships and Silver at the UK School Games.
  • DISABLED swimmer Claire Cashmore has had a fantastic year with a host of top class medals.
She won relay gold and bronze in the IPC European Championships but topped that the World Short Course Championships in Brazil, when she won two gold and silver.
  • KIDDERMINSTER driving ace Nathan Freke won the Ginetta G50 Championship.
He won 15 races, ending the season on a high with a hat-trick of wins at Brands Hatch.
  • KIDDERMINSTER Victoria batsman Craig had a brilliant year with the willow for the Chester Road outfit.
He averaged 38 runs in all competitions. His 85 against Kenilworth Wardens ensured KVCC won the Graham Williamson Trophy.
