STOURPORT edged out Wormelow by three runs to in a thrilling game to give them a crucial win.

Batting first, Stourport were soon in trouble at 37-3 before an 85 run partnership between Chris Parry (60) and Ryan Delo (69) with Gavin Bryan hitting a valuable 26 at the end of the innings, guiding Stourport to 224 all out.

In reply, Lee Waldron (2-31) and Bevan Neil (1-28) bowled with great control to restrict the Wormelow scoring, with Bryan the main wicket taker with 4-61. With nine runs required of the last over skipper Craig Siwicki kept his nerve to give Stourport the win by just 3 runs.

This Saturday Stourport entertain Harborne (1pm start).

The seconds maintained their stunning season with a 60 run win over Belbroughton to maintain a 42 point lead at the top of Division One 2nd XI.

David Pittaway’s 108 provided the backbone of Stourport’s 277 -7 from 50 overs, with Ethan Lockwood (40) and Spencer Colley (35) providing valuable runs.

In Reply 3-24 from Josh Tristram and 3-42 from Pittway restricted Belbroughton to 217.

The thirds scraped past Old Elizabethans having been bowled out for 189 with a vital 48 from Harry Downers the only highlight of the innings.

Stourport bowlers bowled with great control to restrict OE’s to 163-9 from their 50 overs.

The fourths had a much easier victory against Old Elizabethan’s.

Eighty-three from Neil Waldron and 48 from Pete Harrison saw Stourport to 270-9 from their 45 overs. OE’s were then restricted to 195 for 6 from their 45 overs.
