STOURPORT manager Mark Phillips says his side need to stop chasing games if they are to push themselves away from the lower reaches of the Midland Football League Premier Division.

Swifts have gone behind in their last three matches, including last Saturday's disappointing defeat at Shawbury United.

However, Phillips is happy with the performance levels of his side and thinks it won't be long before his side dishes out a real beating.

He said: "We have dominated for the first 20 minutes against Shawbury but didn't get anything to show for it. Instead they have gone up the pitch and got a lead.

"They have then sat back, soaked up the pressure and played well on the break.

"We are struggling at both ends of the pitch.

"I think an early goal would be a massive help to us. We are too often chasing games and it is an uphill battle.

"I don't think it's too far from coming together because we are actually playing quite well."

Stourport's clash with Pegasus Juniors on Tuesday in the Worcester Royal Infirmary Cup was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

They will now go to seventh-placed St Andrews this Saturday looking to get back to winning ways.
