TWO Wyre Forest footballs teams will honour the memory of local player Billy Rice by holding a charity match on Saturday, July 27 (3pm ko).
Ex-players from Burlish Olympic and Brintons Athletic will play in a game at Stourport Swifts to raise money for Cancer Research.
Many will have played with or against Rice, who lost his battle with cancer over a decade ago.
Normally, his family have organised an over-40s five-a-side clash but to mark ten years since his passing they have arranged an 11-a-side match.
Anyone interesting in playing in the match will pay £5 and can contact Shaun Perry (07801 734254), Vaughan Little (07825 745854) or John Cawley (07852 610555) to register.
Players must be 40 or over and there will be rolling substitutes. Entry is free for spectators but there will be a raffle, while Swifts have let them use the main pitch and facilities for free.
