STUDENTS from Stourport High School warmed up for the Ashes by beating Australian touring side Wanderers.
The Wanderers were made up of players from small schools from around Australia and when they arrived at Stourport they had played six matches in the UK and lost none of them.
But their winning streak was brought to an end by a confident and talented team from Wyre Forest.
Wanderers reached 148-9 in their 40 overs, with bowlers Alex Cook (3 -9) and Sam Foley (2-15) in good form, as well as Laurence Neill and Charlie Foley also taking wickets.
In reply, Stourport cruised to victory with with vital contributions came from Foley (38) and Ethan Lockwood (58no).
