TRIATHLON: Ian Dickens set a new personal best at the Outlaw Ironman event in Nottingham on Sunday.

The Kidderminster resident complete the 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike ride and 26.2-mile run in a time of 10 hours 46 minutes.

This was his eighth ironman distance for the 41-year-old, who is a member of Triathlon Kidderminster and Stourport (TRiKS).

He has now set his sights on competing in the Ironman event in Wales in September.

Meanwhile, at the Hereford Sprint triathlon tournament, TRiKS members took on a 440-yard pool swim, 10-mile bike ride and five-kilometre run.

Emma Hornby competed well after a quick bike leg to finish first lady and 11th overall in 55.54, while Catherine Coley knocked seven minutes from last years’ time to finish second lady and 31st overall in 59.46.

Other members of the club competed at Llandudno sea sprint (750m swim, 19km bike, 5km run).

Tony Muir had a very good result with 1.18m 01, while Jacqui Phillips followed very close behind to win the veterans 45 to 49 age section in 1.18.07 and Graham Thorley very solid with 1.18.59.
