CYCLING: Andy Overton sealed Wyre Forest CRC's 50 mile time trial championship.

Overton finished sixth at the Shirley RC promoted event, which was held on the popular K33/50 course near Alcester, in a time of one hour, 56 minutes and one second.

Riders were in action in the club’s midweek TT championship which was incorporated into the inter club competition.

Promoted by Worcester St Johns CC on the Severn Stoke course, Steve Vanes was the fastest for Wyre Forest, finishing second overall in a time of 21.35 with Justin Walters third in 22.08.

Despite their heavy legs from their efforts in the 50 miles race two days before, Overton and Bradley gave good support and with Lucy Walters and Stuart Walker scoring well, Wyre Forest limited their loss on the evening to 20 points. They now lead in the competition with 223 points.

Justin Walters teamed up with Tim Wood and Ian Hemming of Echelon Cycles to ride the Port Talbot Wheelers CC 4up 25 miles team time trial.

Despite being a rider short due to illness the trio finished a creditable fourth overall and first composite and veterans teams in a time of 50.34.

To finish off a busy week Walters placed 11th from 77 starters in the Hinckley CRC promoted 25 miles TT with a time of 58-10 while Lucy Walters finished 34th and second lady in a time of 1-04.38.
