COCK and Magpie kept up the pressure on league leaders Rising Sun B by defeating Black Boy 5-2 in the Marston's Bewdley Darts League.

Dave Green got Magpie off to a strong start by defeating Black Boy's Alan Wainwright in the opening leg.

Wainwright had hit a century but Green made sure of victory with two of his own.

Tony Danks went one better with an 11- dart leg against Boy's Will Knight, while Neil Harrison hit 96 to finish.

Steve Bradbury missed a 140 checkout, before Richard Babb restored some hopes of a Black Boy fight back by seeing off Dave Pearce.

Babb and Knight took the first doubles game with some great throwing by Knight, who hit two 120s in his visit to the oche, but Magpies sealed victory by winning the next doubles leg. Victory lifts the team to second place in the league.

Bliss Gates' Dave Edwards played his best darts of the season when he hit a 180 followed by 68 checkout against Wribbenhall Social's Tony Brooks.

But Gate were no match for the Social, who saw their own Dave Edwards and Brian Edwards clinch victory in the doubles.

The league takes a break for the Team Knockout Out, which is sponsored by the Waggon and Horse.
