DEFENDER Luke Jones has joined Kidderminster Harriers on a one-year deal, while midfielder Andy Ferrell has committed himself for another season.

Jones signed a one-year deal at Harriers to bolster their central defensive options.

The 22-year-old was released by League Two side Shrewsbury at the end of the season.

He enjoyed a six-game spell with the Blue Square Premier Club in the second half of the last campaign, before being re-called by Shrewsbury boss Paul Simpson.

"Luke is young, quick and strong and I think he'll be a great addition to the squad," said manager Mark Yates.

"He knew us well from last season and I think that was a big factor in getting him."

Jones' deal at Harriers starts on July 1.

Meanwhile, Ferrell will be plying his trade at Harriers next season after signing up for another season.

The hard-tackling Newcastle fan had man joined the club from Hereford United last season and produced some whole-hearted displays.

His contract was up at the end of the season but he was quickly offered another by the manager.

"I enjoyed my time here last year and I always intended to sign again," said Ferrell.

"I've spoken to a few other clubs and have told the gaffer that but have also told him that I never wanted to leave, I have a good relationship with him and everyone at the club.

"It's taken a while to sort everything out but now it's been finalised I'm very happy."
