THE rain ensured that Wyre Forest sides with promotion hopes were drowned in the final round of matches in the Worcestershire County Cricket League on Saturday.

The torrential rain ensured that there was not a ball bowled in anger in any of the divisions and meant there was no movement up or down the tables.

With the chance that the top three would still be going up from Division Two, Bewdley had went into the weekend's game against Romsley and Hunnington hoping to secure promotion but the rain ensured that they ended the season in fourth place, four points behind Malvern.

Chaddesley Corbett were also relegated from the division after finishing second from bottom.

In Division Three Cookley's promotion hopes were dashed as they finished fourth, missing out on a potential promotion spot by eight points to Hagley.

Kidderminster finished in sixth place, while Stourport avoided slipping into the bottom three by finishing in ninth.

Meanwhile, Cutnall Green ended the season bottom of the table to confirm their relegation.
