RUNNERS from Amazing Feet RC enjoyed a superb Sunday at the Uffmoor Shuffle multi-terrain 10 kilometre event in Halesowen.

With ten finishers from the 133 competitors who took part, the club also picked up a number of individual and team awards.

David Whymant and Emma Hornby both won championship gold medals, with Craig Bone and John Amos picking up individual bronze medals.

The club’s ladies collected a silver medal in the team event, with the men collecting a team bronze.

Richard Baker completed two events over the weekend in the Lake District.

He took part in the first Helvellyn Trails 15km race, finishing the tough event in 196th position out of the 290 finishers in a time of one hour, 27 minutes and 42 seconds.

On Sunday, Baker recorded 1-24-05 in the 49th Derwentwater 10km race, finishing in 306th.

n Matt Grainger was star of the show for Kidderminster and Stourport AC in Division Two of the Birmingham Cross Country League.

Grainger saw off the challenge of David Evans from Wolverhampton and Bilston AC to win in a time of 33-55.

Second to finish for the club was Ben Danvers in 49th place, setting a time of 38-19, followed by Rob Chzran (55th, 38-58).

In his first cross country race, Martin Davies finished in 39-15, while Steve Poulton and Bob Park finished in 83rd and 86th, crossing the line in fifth and sixth respectively for the club.

The club finished in eighth position overall out of 18 teams to ensure a good start to the season.

Mark Hawkins returned to action after a long absence because of injury and finished the Dublin marathon in 3-56-00.

Mother and daughter running team Jacqui Phillips and Charlotte Whorton cleaned up at the Worcestershire Multi-Terrain County Championships in Halesowen.

They braved rain and knee deep mud in the hilly 10 kilometre event around Uffmore Woods. Jacqui won the women's event in 48-13, claiming the county championship gold, while Charlotte finished in 52-35 to claim the senior silver medal.
