Sue Lloyd and Shirley Caldwell beat Ann Roberts and Chloe Ballard 3-2, while Christine Martin and Anne Thompson defeated Margaret Leake and Lynn Bayley 5- 4.
Jeanie Jackson and Jill Godfrey lost to Trica Lees-Miln and Vivian Ellis 3-1, while Gill Gatland and Deanne Robson lost to Pam Bard and Ann Parry 3-2.
