ROWING: Bewdley RC member Philippa Capel set a new course record for the longest race of the season.
She was the club’s sole entry in the Boston Marathon in Lincolnshire.
Capel competed in the veterans A category and completed the gruelling 31 mile course in four hours, 29 minutes and 59 seconds to be the fourth fastest female sculler of the day. She said: “The conditions on the day were cool and sunny and the atmosphere was buzzing.
“It was a wonderful day and a great race for anyone looking for a new challenge.”
