MIDLANDS Division One champions Stourport Ladies got amongst the goals against North Notts as they ran out 8-2 winners.

With promotion to the Midlands Premier tied-up last week, Stourport could relax and enjoy the game and they let their hockey do the talking.

Rene Johnson opened the scoring, while Jodi Vincent completed a flowing move to fire Stourport 2-0 up.

Johnson’s deflected effort increased Stourport’s lead, before North Notts pulled a goal back.

Their fight back was short lived though as Vincent made it 4-1.

Notts replied against to make it 4-2 just before half-time but Stourport hit a higher gear after the break and Johnson completed her hat-trick.

Vincent grabbed two more to seal a four-goal haul and Loran Symonds also hit the target to finish off the rout.

The seconds also hit the goal-trail in the Midlands Feeder League Division One as they defeated Wem 7-0.

Wem, who are four places below their visitors, found themselves on the end of goal rush, with Kate Bailey, Pippa Lewis, and Holly Lashford all grabbed goals.

Lauren Homer and Lucy Mattocks, whose impressive performance up front and in midfield earned Stourport’s player of match award, both scored a brace.

In Worcestershire Division One, the thirds drew 1-1 with Worcester’s second string at home.

Lorna Hawthorne had fired Stourport ahead but they were pegged back from a penalty corner just before half-time.

The fifths, who play in Division Three, put up a fight against leaders Ludlow but lost 6-0 away from home.
