TENNIS: A full complement of 20 couples competed in the annual Ladies’ Open at Bewdley Tennis Club.
Jo Skyme and Sarah Griffiths (Stourbridge) beat Carol Lewis and Candy Lake (Ombersley) to win the title for the second year in a row.
Bewdley pairing Sue Brennan and Amanda Davies were losing semi-finalists.
In the plate final, an all-Bewdley affair saw Jill Watt and Denise Sherriff overcame a stiff challenge from Gail Tweedale and Jenny Raine.
May has been a busy month, with a successful open day, the start of the club championsips and Summer League matches, as well as junior nights (Fridays 5pm to 7.30pm).
