STOURPORT Ladies continued their fine form by taking maximum points from a weekend double-header.

The Midlands Premier League leaders hammered Leicester seconds 6-0 on Saturday and were then 3-1 winners at Worcester on Sunday.

Jodi Vincent started the scoring almost straight away at Leicester with an unstoppable shot.

The second arrived within minutes as Rene Johnson crossed for Lora Symonds to slot home.

Leicester attempted to hit back, but Vincent claim close to added Stourport’s third before the break.

The visitors unleashed a barrage on the Leicester goal as the second-half began.

The third goal arrived via a tap in from Jade Marshall-Walker after the ball dropped straight into her path following a save from Pippa Lewis’ rasping shot.

Johnson was causing more havoc down the right and set up Chloe Marshall-Walker for the fourth goal soon after, before Lewis was rewarded with a goal of her own following a fine run.

The scoring wasn’t finished as the pressure told on the home defence, who conceded a penalty flick which Sarah Cavendish converted.

Stourport seemed to pick up where they had left off at Worcester on Sunday, putting the hosts under immediate pressure which saw Symonds come close to breaking the deadlock.

Erin Preece also went close before the visitors finally took a deserved lead thanks to a neat finish from Chloe Marshall-Walker.

But Worcester came back into it in the closing stages of the half and grabbed an equaliser through Sunny Ricketts to ensure the sides went in level at the break.

Stourport took a little time to settle as the second-half began but soon began creating chances and regained the lead when Sophie Morris’ fantastic cross was turned home by Symonds.

Cavendish then sealed it with a thunderous shot which found the bottom corner.

Stourport host Harborne this Saturday (11.30am).

There was disappointment for the third XI who conceded five minutes from time to lose 1-0 to Harborne.

The fourths were also on the end of a defeat as they lost 2-0 to Old Halesonians.

Edgbaston are the opponents for the second XI this Saturday (1pm), with the thirds playing away at Worcester seconds.

The fourths travel to face the Bournville seconds while the fifths host Bromsgrove thirds.
