ANDY Thorn has called on the fans to get behind Kidderminster Harriers as they face two important home games.

The Carpetmen are in need of wins to revive their hopes of making the Skrill Premier play-off spots after last weekend's 2-0 loss at Lincoln City.

Harriers tackle a Braintree side on Saturday (kick-off 3pm) who have not played a competitive game since January 11 because of the fierce storms which have plagued southern Britain.

Thorn's men follow that with a rearranged home clash against Woking on Tuesday (kick-off 7.45pm) in a rearranged clash.

The manager urged supporters to back the players as they try to regain their form after picking up seven points from their last ten league matches.

“I want the fans to get behind the team, to be positive with the players," urged the manager.

“We’ve got a big home game on Saturday and the team needs the fans behind them.”

He added: “The most important thing for us is to go out and win on Saturday.

“We can’t look beyond Braintree at the moment and we’re going to have to take it game-by-game.”

“You can’t legislate for individual errors but you can keep working hard and eventually the confidence will return. I am sure we will get it right.”

The Shuttle understands the manager has been forced to deal with a host of issues behind the scenes since replacing former Harriers boss Steve Burr in January.

Thorn took over a club which had lost four of their previous five league matches.

He inherited a squad which had discipline issues, while some players struggled with weight and fitness concerns.

Meanwhile, Thorn lamented Saturday's loss at City, where they were shot down by Ben Tomlinson's brace, a defeat which leaves them seven points off the play-offs but with 48 left to play for.

“What’s galling is that when you look at the statistics, Lincoln only really had two meaningful shots on target," he said.

“Otherwise we dominated possession and had chances of our own but we let ourselves down with individual errors for both goals.

“You can’t legislate for those but you can keep working hard on defending and eventually the confidence will return.”

Thorn could ring the changes for Saturday's must-win clash, with new additions Josh O'Keefe, Freddie Ladapo, Adrian Cieslewicz and Argentinian Santiago Aloi pushing for starts. Striker Anthony Malbon could also feature.

Meanwhile, defender Mickey Demetriou has been included in a 16-man squad for England C's clash against Jordan under-23s in Amman on Tuesday, March 4.
