KCs are still in the hunt – coach

A 15-15 draw allowed Banbury to go top and makes the forthcoming clash with third placed Earlsdon - who have two games in hand and are just a solitary point behind - a must win.

But before that Bletcher must rally the troops as they prepare for a trip to face a Dunlop side still smarting from a 65-14 mauling earlier in the season.

Bletcher said: "We must give massive credit to Droitwich, their hunger and ability to get back and defend was of great credit to them. People assume when it's top against bottom that we should win but they have some big players who performed on the day.

"Let's not forget that they were also the only side to win at Earlsdon this season so maybe we should be happy that we got a draw.?

"But that said we had enough territory, possession and chances to have won. We'll have to have a good look at ourselves in training this week.

"It's a setback - but it's not a catastrophe. We had a fantastic session with Alex Groves last week and the backs showed real signs of improvement but people will just be remembering the dropped passes and not the five or six that proceeded them.

"We'll focus on the positives and not get distracted by errors and mistakes. We've got to be careful we don't undo all the good work - we can't keep using the excuse that it was a bad day at the office.

"There were one or two below par performances and our selection will reflect that but who would have said in November we would be in this position. But when you get to the top the aspiration levels are raised. Our focus now is to play as well as we can, win our games and what will happen will happen."

Bletcher should have Joe Nicklin back after his holiday last week but Tom Maher may still be out. Matt Rigsby also had to pull out of last week's game 20 minutes before kick off and Bletcher is not sure of his availability until later in the week.

"No excuses, we've got to front up and come away with the points," he said.
