TRIATHLON: Wyre Forest’s Tri Energy Kids continue to race with impressive form.

Brothers Sam and Jacob Amies (pictured) put in good performances in the Shrewsbury Junior Duathlon on Sunday in sweltering heat.

Sam, the younger of the two, took on the 400-metre run, 700m bike and 200m run, while 10-year-old Jacob tackled the longer distances of a 1.2-kilometre run, 1.6km bike and 400m run.

Both boys, who are still in their first season of the sport, raced really well and finished strongly.

Meanwhile, Isaac Sobolewski and Dan Kimber raced at the Bromsgrove Junior Park Run, which is a 2km running event.

Isaac ran close to his personal best time, with Dan finishing third overall on his debut in an impressive time of eight minutes and 47 seconds.

Olly Lester raced the further distance of the Rainbow 5km running race and finished in 30 minutes flat.

Meanwhile, coaches Sam Anderson and Lenka Moore have secured a spot in the prestigious Breca Swim Run event next year, which sees competitors tackle 6km of swimming and 38km of trail running in the fells.
