STOURPORT travelled to the beautiful Colwall CC for what we knew was going to be a tough encounter.

Being asked to bowl first Stourport slightly underperformed with the ball and in the field allowing Colwall to post 294-8 from their 50 overs.

There were wickets for Steve Yarsley (3) and Matt Delo (2).

In reply, Stourport got off to a good start with overseas batsmen Kevin Renecke scoring 45 before being caught at mid-wicket. Andy Siwicki, Ryan Derrick and Craig Siwicki all scored 20s but didn’t kick on.

Stourport were finally dismissed for 151 as the first team suffered a a disappointing day.

They will be aiming to bounce back on Saturday at home to Worcester Nomads (1pm).

Cookley’s seconds saw off Colwall.

Colwall batted first at Walshes Meadow and took full advantage of the batting conditions to post 289-5.

There were two wickets for spinner David Pittaway.

Cookley’s strong batting line-up prevailed and they chased down the total in the last over of the game.

Wicket keeper Mark Moss scored 99, Chris Parry 96 and Ethan Lockwood 26.

The thirds won the toss and elected to field at Hartlebury School dismissing Halesowen for 166.

Charlie Foley was the pick of the bowlers picking up four wickets with Bob Pittaway and Alex Cook providing good support with two scalps each.

Stourport knocked the runs off in the 34th over with Bevan Neill (59) and Jim Cook (32) the main contributors with the bat.

Cookley’s fourths were put to the sword by Halesowen in their fixture. Batting first, Halesowen amassed 203-7 in their 50 overs. Captain Richard Foley took three wickets with his slow bowling.

In reply, Stourport were skittled for 86 by a good Halesowen bowling attack, while 25 runs from Alan Lockwood was the only highlight.
