STOURPORT were left frustrated by the weather as the torrential rain cut short their Worcestershire League Division One clash against Droitwich.

Spa had won the toss and opted to bowl first but the Wyre Forest side had made 148-4 in 33 overs when a downpour forced the game to be abandoned.

Michael Pratt (46no) and Ryan Derrick (56no) were in good form with the bat.

With Hagley managing to record a win over Burghill, Stourport slipped to fourth in the table.

Stourport take on Burghill, Tillington and Weobley at home on Saturday (1pm start).

Meanwhile, Cookley saw their first and thirds team matches both washed out but the seconds did see some cricket at Enville.

Having being asked to bat they made 163-8, with Bailey England top scoring with 47 before the heavens opened.

With just three games to go both the firsts and second sides are eighth in their respective divisions.

“It’s going to be a tense three weeks,”admitted club chairman Phil Dixon.

Cookley thirds’ season ended with a respectable fourth position in Division Seven North.

James Brown’s decision to buy a brand new bat was justified with a credible seventh place in the league batting averages.
