Midwest Counties Women's League
Wyre Forest Phoenix 8, Bridgnorth Ladies 1
WYRE Forest were keen to get their revenge after being beaten 4-3 the last time they faced Bridgnorth.
The game began brightly with both goalkeepers called into action but Phoenix got the upper hand on 15 minutes with a volley from Chelsea Mudge.
The visitors pushed for an equaliser and were caught exposed in defence by Chloe Whyley who was on hand to finish after a pass from Lisa Preece.
Bridgnorth hit back five minutes later with a 25-yard strike past stand-in Phoenix stopper Kirsten Oliver to make the score 2-1 at half time.
Bridgnorth were not at the races in the second half as Phoenix piled in to demolish their opponents with another goal for Mudge, two more for Whyley, two for Lisa Preece and one for Kat Bayliss.
The club's juniors have also been in high-scoring mood, earlier in the month their under-13s put 12 goals past Welland Junior Girls without conceding any goals against.
