Westfields 3, Stourport Swifts 0

STOURPORT’S hopes of securing a top six finish suffered a severe set-back as they slumped to defeat at Westfields.

Manager Rod Brown was able to call on young keeper Sam Hawker for the first time in four games allowing emergency stopper Jamie Willets to return to his usual role in the heart of the Swifts defence.

But this was still a depleted side with youngsters Luke Morris and Oliver Long being handed starts.

Westfields dominated the first half but rarely threatened Hawker even though they had the majority of the possession.

But they did break the deadlock two minutes into the second half when a corner was not cleared and Scott Jackson turned the ball home.

Five minutes later and Lewis Pountney went close for the visitors when he met an Ashley Parsons-Smith cross only for his header to drift wide.

But moments later Westfields doubled their tally from the penalty spot, Phil Glover scoring after a foul by Gary Walker.

Luke Griffiths completed the scoring 15 minutes from time and this finally spurred the visitors into their best football of the game.

A Calvin Dinsley free-kick forced a good save from home keeper John Pugh three minutes from time before star man Dinsley powered an effort against the crossbar in the final seconds.

Swifts: Hawker 6, Jones 7 (Orme 67, 6), Hyde 6, Walker 6, Willets 7, Morris 6, Long 5, DINSLEY 8, Griffin 6, Pountney 6, Parsons-Smith 6.
