ROD Brown wants Jekyll and Hyde Stourport Swifts to find some consistency after a week of contrasting results in the Midlands Football League Premier.

Swifts suffered their heaviest defeat of the season on Saturday as second-place Basford beat them 5-0.

But they responded impressively to defeat third-placed Coleshill 2-0 thanks to goals for Jamie Willetts and Ashley Parsons-Smith.

Brown said: “When we are playing well we’re a tough side to beat but we have to be at our best.

“Against Basford it was like men against boys, we were 3-0 down in 12 minutes and the game was over.

“It’s not rocket science, you have to play to your best and the minimum requirement is working hard.”

Tuesday’s game was delayed so there was no time for the manager to give his team talk.

He said: “I was going to read the players the riot act before Tuesday, but then we had a few odd things happen. We had three pull out before because of work and then because of gridlocked traffic on the M42 we only had six players at 7.45pm.

“It’s the best we have played in terms of performance and result and I can’t single anyone out.”

Swifts tackle Quorn at home on Saturday (3pm ko).
