IT'S 'as you were' at Wyre Forest following the conclusion of this year's District Council election.

The Conservatives have lost one seat but still retain a huge majority, holding 22 of the 33 available positions following today's count (Friday, May 6).

Tory councillor Tony Muir was ousted from his Mitton role by Health Concern's Nicky Martin in the first result of the day.

Lin Henderson also lost to Labour’s Vi Higgs in Areley Kings & Riverside, yet the Tories regained Foley Park & Hoobrook from Labour.

Of the 11 seats that were up for grabs, five were claimed by the Conservatives, three by Labour, one for the Liberal Democrats, one for Health Concern and one for Independent.

Overall, there were gains for Labour and the Liberal Democrats, while the Tories lost one seat and UKIP lost their only district council seat in Broadwaters.

The new make up of Wyre Forest District Council is:

Con: 22
